The lightning flashed, thunder crashed and she curled up in the darkness of her room...

Fear raced up her heart, down her spine as the rain pounded on her glass windows... the fierce winds blowing the trees to and fro... all because of her...

Kerowyn curled up in the farthest corner from the window, burrying her head in her arms, which were laying on her curled up knees... "Please stop..." she murmered into the still darkness...

She heard the faint sound of the door opening and closing, not looking up, she knew who it was...

"My Dearest Kerowyn, what is wrong?"

She felt a warm arm wrap around her chilled shoulders and she shivered at the sudden warmth as she laid her head on her father's shoulder... "I... I... nothing ada." she murmered as another crash of thunder rumbled in the sky, causing her to jump and burry her head in Elrond's shoulder...

"Oh nya yende... surely there is something..." Elrond whispered softly as he stroked her soft golden tresses... "You never react this way to storms... unless they're storms of your life..."

Kerowyn shivered... "Maybe there is... something ada." she murmered against his shoulder...

"Perhaps you would like to tell me about it then?" Elrond asked...

"I just want it to go away!" Kerowyn murmered as tears threated to spill over her eyes...

Elrond stroked her blonde hair and sighed... "I can't do anything about it unless I know the problem..." he told her as he pulled her closer to him, his daughter sitting on his lap, his arms wrapped around her protectively...

Kerowyn sighed... "It's... I've been so stressed ada... listening to everyone's problems... being asked how this will play out... helping you in the healing wards... don't get me wrong, I love to help you ada... tending to my studies, and my practices... dealing with Lindir... I just don't know what to do ada! I just want all this to stop!"

"And this is the reason the sudden storm then?" Elrond asked and recieved a brief nod from his daughter... "Oh yende..." he whispered and sighed...

I can't stop the Rain...

From falling down on You Again.

I can't stop the Rain...

But I will hold you 'till it goes away.

Elrond sighed and soothed his distraught daughter... "Oh my dear." he whispered... "I can't stop the problems in your life... only you can... but I can be here for you until all your problems disappear... be there for you when you cry... listen to your problems..."

Kerowyn nodded her head as the tears finally spilled down her face... "Oh Ada..." she whispered into his shoulder as she sobbed...

"Everything will be allright Kerowyn... all will be well in time... I promise you... everything will be fine." he whispered as he rocked his daughter back and forth. "Just let it all go..."

"I... I can't..." she sobbed... "I just can't ada..."

The storm outside increased and raged on with her oncoming emotions... Elrond sighed as he watched his daughter's power work... it was always so easy to know which child was upset... each having a different reaction to their emotions... he hugged Kerowyn tighter and closer to him... he kissed her brow and continued holding his eldest daughter...

"This is all my fault ada! All the problems here in Rivendell is all my fault.... my gift of foresight is more a curse than a gift... everything has been going wrong... all because of me ada!" Kerowyn sobbed. "It's raining because of my acts father... I've been so wrong..."

Elrond stroked her head before kissing it and holding her closer to him... "You can't blame yourself forever Kerowyn... especially if it's not your fault..." he told her. He felt some of her tension leave her and the storm died down... leaving only the pounding rain... of her tears of sadness... "I love you Kerowyn."

"I don't deserve you love..." she murmered into the darkness...

He stood slowly and picked his daughter up as he carried her to her bed... he sat down on the soft matress, still holding his daughter to him... as he covered her up with a blanket...

"Don't leave me tonight ada.. please..." she whispered through her tears... "I don't need to be left alone..."

Elrond kissed her brow and stroked her hair in a soothing manner... "Just rest Kerowyn... just sleep..." he whispered before kissing her head once more... "It will be allright, I'll keep you safe... no one loves you like I do my daughter..." he whispered into the darkness as he heard his daughter's breathing even out in soft elven sleep...

Elrond yawned slightly as his eyes unglazed from his sweet elven dreams.. he looked down at the bundle in his arms wrapped in a cream colored blanket... he kissed the soft forehead of his daughter and stroked her golden tresses that glistened in the morning sunlight... everything would be allright... she had her family... and she had overcame that rainy trial... and he was glad he was able to help her...

He would always be there to help her... hold her when she was sad... lift her up when she was down... because he loved her... he always would love his daughter... always...
