WHEN LOVE COMES HOME
"Kerowyn!" Luna yelled excitedly while running down to Rivendell's gardens.
"What are you so happy about?" Kerowyn asked while Luna came and sat down beside her. "Guess who's coming home soon?" Luna smiled really big.
"Lindir!" Kerowyn squealed. Luna nodded and Kerowyn squealed more. "I know! They're all coming home!" Luna grinned once more and the two began to scream.
"If you get that way when they come through those gates they'll think you missed them something awful..."
The two turned and saw Glorfindel. "GLORFY!" the two exclaimed and ran to give Glorfindel a big hug. Glorfindel picked up one in each arm and swung them around. He smiled at their giggles of happiness. "That's the welcome I was hoping for."
"I didn't think you were coming back 'till next week." Kerowyn spoke up. "Yeah Glorfy. Why are you back so early?" Luna asked.
"I missed the two loves of my life." Glorfindel smiled. "Lanisanan and Sarnin?" Kerowyn asked.
"No."
"Darinine and Melonre?" Luna asked.
"No." Glorfindel smiled. "Tarinian and Abillyan." The two girls looked at him in awe. "Uh!" they exclaimed in unison. Glorfindel chuckled. "You know only you two are the loves of my life."
"How were things in Lorien?" asked Luna.
"Fine. Everthing was perfect." Glorfindel replied. "Good." Kerowyn spoke up and looked at Glorfindel. "When is Haldir coming to visit?"
"Soon. He told me to say hello to everyone." Glorfindel replied. Luna and Kerowyn both nodded, "Where is your wound?" Luna asked.
"Wound?" Glorfindel rose one eyebrow and stared at the young elf. "No elf has ever left Rivendell's gates without being wounded." Luna replied discreetly. "You have that wrong penneth. No 'elf-ling' cannot leave the gates without coming back wounded.
"Is that the way it goes?" Kerowyn asked. "You know it is true. There is the time when you went to visit Lorien, and on the way back you both were attacked and kidnapped by the orcs, or that other time...." Glorfindel started.
"Allright point taken." Kerowyn murmered. Luna sighed, "If only Lord Elrond wouldn't keep us under a microscope every time we return to the realm."
"He cares." replied Glorfindel. "Too much." the girls added. Glorfindel chuckled and stood, "I would love to stay and chat, but I must report to Lord Elrond of my journey to Lorien."
"We'll miss you Glorfy." the girls called while watching the elf, that had been like an uncle to them, leave.
~~~
"And how did they manage to get those cuts and scratches?" Glorfindel asked. Elrond sighed, "Did they not tell you?"
Glorfindel smiled. "I did not ask." Elrond smiled back and chuckled slightly, "One of their misadventures I'm afraid. Nothing too serious though. They have been anxious ever since the boys left that they've hardly slept. They'll be even more difficult tonight."
"Hannon-le for the reassurance." Glorfindel replied. "Now I take my leave. I long to get out of these filthy clothes." Elrond smiled. "Of course you do mellon-nin." he watched his friend walk to the door. "But you can help me with their cuts and scratches tonight though!"
"You know how they are mellon-nin!" Glorfindel moaned. "That's why I need your helo." Elrond called while watching his friends face turn into a scowl as he shut the door. Elrond chuckled to himself and went back to his duties as Lord of Rivendell.
