Somethings are better left unknown (wip)

Luna woke up to the sound of Kerowyn getting sick. She bolted to the room. “Kerowyn! Whats wrong?”

"Nothing, I'm fine." Kerowyn replied. The worried look on her friends face told her that she thought, "Yeah, right." Kerowyn looked at Luna once more. "I'm fine really."

"Hmmmm...." Luna looked at her friends pale face. "Alright..." she turned to leave and bumped into Linwe.

"Hi Linwe." Kerowyn said while following Luna. Linwe smiled. "Hello, I have been sent to come and get you. Elrond wants to see both of you."

"Why?" Luna asked.

"Elrond didn't tell me...now go?! And....put on your cloaks...it's very cold."

Kerowyn nodded and put on her cloak. "Wonder what he wants." she said aloud.

"Are you going to tell him you are sick...and does Lindir know?"

"I'm not sick." Kerowyn argued. "I just ate something last night." she looked at Luna. "And there's no reason to tell anyone."

"Alright...Alright. Though....I do have to tell you, I miss you being in the room next door. Now that you and Lindir are wed, it feels as though my best friend isn't really there anymore..." The two women arrived at Elrond's office. They knocked.

"Come in." said a voice from inside. The two entered and Elrond looked up. "Nice to see you again. Have a seat."

Kerowyn smiled. "Lord Elrond." she sat down. "I was wondering what you called us here for." she said. She was never really patient.

"Ker!" Luna elbowed Kerowyn in the ribs. Elrond cleared his throat.

Kerowyn looked at Luna. "Girls." Elrond warned from behind his desk. "I won't keep you waiting Kerowyn. I have received a letter, aquiring both of your prescences." Elrond handed the note to Kerowyn so they both could read it.

"A battle?" Luna asked, brow furrowed. "But we, okay, I just returned from one a while back. How many battles can there be?"

"Many obviously." Kerowyn murmered.

"Will you go?" Elrond asked them.

"I don't see why not...but what exactly is going on?" Luna asked. She sighed. She hated battles...and so did Kerowyn.

"Well in Mirkwood, the spiders have been groing feirce. Along with the orcs, they need your help getting the women and children out of the realm, and with the spiders." Elrond replied. "And orcs."

"Alright." Luna sighed, she stood and hurriedly left without another word on the matter.

Kerowyn once more followed her friend. "We leave at noon." she spoke. "We have an hour to pack, and I have an hour to argue with my husband."

"I guess I am lucky that way." Luna sighed again. Elrohir wasn't here, he was in the Golden Wood. "Remember your bow and arrows...and a spare cloak." Luna said. "Oh....and fletching!"

"Fine Luna." Kerowyn walked into her room and sighed.

"Where have you been?" Lindir asked while wrapping his arms around her, She turned and kissed him then walked to her wardrobe. "A meeting. I'm leaving at noon."

"WHAT?" Lindir yelled.

"You heard me...and I'm going, thats all there is to it Lindir." Kerowyn's voice was full of steely resolve

"Well I'm going with you." Lindir shot back.

"NO YOUR NOT!" Kerowyn replied.

There was a knock at the door and Linwe peeked in. "Everything alright?" she asked.

"Yes." Kerowyn yelled. "No." Lindir yelled at the same time. "Yes Linwe everythings fine." Kerowyn replied while glancing toward Lindir, daring him to oppose.

Lindir said nothing.

"Alright...Ker, Luna is waiting for you by the kitchens..." Linwe took a last look and left the room.

"Allright." Kerowyn grabbed her bags and kissed Lindir. "Bye." she replied then left him in the room. Kerowyn still felt a little queasy but fought it off while walking to the kitchens, she finally met up with Luna. "Hi."

"Hi..." Luna looked at her friend. She was pale again. "Are you sure your alright?" she asked.

Kerowyn, in exasperation, nodded. "Yes!" Luna looked unconvinced but did not press the issue.

Linwe came over to them. "Luna, Ker, I wish you safety on your journey, but should you get hurt, here is a pack of herbs."

"Thank you." Kerowyn accepted and grabbed the pack. "Shall we be on our way then?"

Luna nodded and mounted her horse. The two girls rode out of the gates and into the wild. It wasn't long before they saw the first damaged areas.

"Look at all the destruction..." Luna said, whispering.

"All the agony." Kerowyn added. She gasped at a pain in her stomach and placed her hand on it. "I cant believe this has happened." she felt a prescence behind her, an evil prescence...

"Kerowyn!" Luna turned at shot an arrow at an orc coming up behind her. "Whether we are ready or not...we are in the battle now!" Luna yelled.

"Oh dear. Valar keep all three of us safe." she whispered out of hearing of Luna and turned to begin sending arrows at the oncoming lot of orcs.

"Oh Valar." Kerowyn whispered. "Spiders Luna. I'll handle it, you work on the orcs." she yelled through the sounds of battle.

Luna found her hands full while she battle the many orcs. All seemed to be going well until her sword was kncoked out of her hands. "Valar....this bites." Luna made due with her bow and arrow, but those were for long range only.

Kerowyn fought with yet another spider. They seemed to be multiplying, rapidly. "Luna!" she yelled while battling with another spider, she didn't even notice the one behind her...

"Kerowyn!" Luna shouted, trying to warn her friend. In a last ditch resort, Luna took aim and fired, getting the spider right before it got Kerowyn.

Kerowyn sighed. "Thanks." she yelled while once more battling. "There's too many of them."

"Throw me your shortsword" Luna yelled.

Kerowyn threw it too her and Luna caught it, and plunged it into an orcs throat. "Luna there's more coming out of the forests, spiders too, where is the Royal army when you need them?"

"Not here.....evidently." Luna stated grimly. Suddenly pain lanced through her shoulder and she fought to keep concsiousness.

"Luna watch out!" Kerowyn yelled. She watched the orc snare at her then lunge at Luna. "NO!" she screamed and began to walk toward her friend, until a fiery hot pain went down her neck, a pain that felt much like a spiders poison. "Keep my baby safe." she prayed while slipping into the realm of unconsciousness...

Luna started at her friend's injury. "Sweet Eru!" she yelled and she fought as if renewed. But she couldn't hold on for much longer. She finally passed out.

The orcs stopped fighting. "We take them to our leader...yes?"

one asked

"Yes." another hissed and picked both girls up, dragging them back to the camp so they could begin their journey too...

~~~Mirkwood((1 week later))~~~
Thranduil was pacing the floor. Elrond had sent him word that Luna and Kerowyn were on their way. They should have been here by now. He had sent members of his royal army out to see if perhaps they had gotten lost or if some evil had befallen them. They had been gone since that morning. Thranduil decided he would try to clear his head…by doing paperwork. He became so engrossed in it, that he did not realize Legolas was standing by his desk until Legolas said something. “Oh…ion-nin….what is you need?” Thranduil asked, obviously a little flustered. Legolas gave him a strange look.
“The scouts you sent are back….” Legolas said. Thranduil was up in a moment, daring to hope. He ran through the door leaving a slightly bewildered Legolas behind.
Thranduil went running down the stairs to the royal gardens. There were the scouts. Thranduil stopped and counted a moment. He had sent seven scouts…and they had seven horses. There were seven scouts here…and nine horses. Something was wrong….terribly wrong.
~~~Luna and Kerowyn~~~

Luna moaned and opened her eyes. She was cold. She rolled over. There was Kerowyn….looking worse for the wear, still unconscious beside her. “Oh….Valar.” Luna swore. She heard rough laughter. The orcs who had captured her were standing over her.

“So….you’ve awakened. Good.” One crooned.

She snared at him as he reached out for her, "Don't touch me."

He laughed slightly and looked at another orc, "Did you hear that? She tries to tell us what we should do."

"Well, I don't think her resolve will last for long."

Luna turned her head and saw that the orc had awoken Kerowyn and was now standing before the girl who looked on in fear. "Ker..."

"SILENCE!" the orc before her snared and slapped her in the face, a firey pain lancing up her jaw.

She turned her head and looked defiantly at the orc, but remained silent.

"What is your names?" the orc asked.

Luna smirked, "None of your business."

"That answer is not good enough."

Kerowyn looked at Luna, "My name is Albeal *sea gaurdian*, and my companion's name is Laffir *Dark moon*... we are just two elves passing through." she replied weakly.

"I don't recall he asked you." the orc sneered and spat upon her.

Kerowyn flinched but didn't lash out, she looked at Luna whose face was contorted in rage. "You vile vile creature!" the blonde exclaimed.

"Laffir..." Kerowyn's voice broke through Luna's disgusted one. The blonde looked at her older friend, a look of warning was sent her way.

The orc saw the exchange of looks and how the blonde's actions had changed by the simple demand of the brunnette. "Get the brunnette."

"No... don't you touch her you scum of Mordor... every peice of your flesh that touches her will be removed from your body." Luna threateningly exclaimed as she strugged against the orc that held her bound, she watched Kerowyn be lifted into the orc's nasty hands, she struggled slightly, but didn't put up much of a fight. "What are you doing?!? Do you wan't him to take you?!?" the younger elf was outraged. Had the elder elf gone mad?

Kerowyn's fierce eyes shone in the darkness of the cell. She knew her friend had meant well, but the more she cried out the more pain would be caused on either of their behalfs. She knew Luna knew this, but her emotions had taken over. "Tampa dina! Uuma dela." *Stop, be quiet, do not worry* ú-'rogon
