I think we are out of our minds!

Kirstyn and Brittany were walking down Union Road talking bout rather odd things. They were talking like they normally did, about random things…nothing with a point. Half of their conversation was punctuated with laughter. The two girls were complete opposites. But they got along like nothing else in the world…

“I’m telling you Brittany…I can’t wait for the camping trip. It’s going to be so much fun!” Kirstyn was jumping up and down, telling her friend about the camping trip they were going to take the next day. She looked at the busy road. “It’ll be quiet too.”

“Yay! All the more to make louder!” Brittany yelled and pumped her fist in the air. They stopped at a Chinese place earlier for lunch, and the two girls hadn’t eaten their fortune cookies yet. Kirstyn pulled hers out and cracked it open.

“You and a friend will have a great adventure soon.” She read aloud. “Well I will say so! Camping! Yes!” Kirstyn cried.

“Mine’s written in Chinese…” Brittany complained. She looked at it again. “I’ll translate it when I get home.” They turned onto Crom Street and kept walking until they got to Stella Brockman Elementary School where Kirstyn’s mom worked. There the girls did homework and chatted until Mrs. Olsen took them home.

That night, Kirstyn talked to her friend Kimberly on the internet.

Flamesofthemo0n: I’m so excited…except I won’t be able to talk to you for a week or so.

CKlovesme2060: That’s okay…I’ll be busy, I have a singing competition coming up, so I have rehearsals all week.

Flamesofthemo0n: I wish you good luck Mellon!

CKlovesme2060: Thanks…I know I’ll need it! There are so many talented people out there!

Flamesofthemo0n: Just think about Kerowyn, and you won’t go wrong! Well, I g2g, but I’ll ttyl.

CKlovesme2060: Okay! TTYL, have fun on your camping trip!

Brittany finished her homework then picked up her fortune cookie again. She tried and tried to figure out what the words meant, but she couldn’t figure it out. What she did figure out was how to say the Chinese. She spoke it out, and was disappointed. “Damn! Why can’t I translate this?” She put the fortune down and glanced at the clock. “Whatever, I’m going to bed.” Brittany had no idea that she would wake up in a dream...that was not a dream.

Kirstyn stretched and yawned. “Today is the big camping trip!” she thought to herself. “I can already smell the pine trees and…” Kirstyn opened her eyes and looked around her. She was on a mountain, with lots of trees around her. “Okay…maybe the pine trees are real.”

“Trust me they are, human girl.” A deep, melodic voice interrupted her. Kirstyn turned toward the voice. It was a blond man, who was pointing an arrow at her.

“Heh…can you point that thing somewhere else…other then me?” Kirstyn was a little nervous, and wasn’t quite sure where she was.

“Uh, I take it I was trespassing?” She asked. The punishment for trespassing wasn’t death was it? The blonde man took his arrow down and came forward. He grabbed her by the elbow, jolting her to her feet. “Ow! Damn! You don’t have to hurt me!” She shouted.

Brittany could smell cook fresh air, and felt something tickling her hand. “Five more minutes” she moaned. She rolled over and her eyes popped open. She was looking at a forest of trees. “I don’t remember falling asleep in my back yard.” She moaned, looking around. She looked at her hand and screamed. There was a spider crawling on her hand. “A spi…a spee…and arachneed!” She screeched and jumped. Just as she got the little spider off her hand, she noticed the really really big spider in the forest, a few feet away from her. “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK”

Kirstyn was tossed to her knees on the soft ground. She brushed dirt from the knees of her pajamas, and cursed the lack of courtesy. “Stupid idiot…looks like a freaking gay idiot with his hair—what in Mordor?!” Kirstyn stopped her muttering and borrowed one of Brittany’s favorite sayings. She had just looked up; right into the faces of two beings she thought only existed in books and fairytales. “…Something tells me I’m not camping in the woods or anything…” Kirstyn mumbled, and one of the beings started to talk.

“Who are you…Human girl…and where do you yield from?” The figure on the right said, female, with a soothing melodic voice.

“My name is Kirstyn…and I come from Manteca…or more accurately, Lathrop.” Kirstyn said, her voice quavering. The two figures looked confused.

“Well, that …needs study.” Said the second figure, male, with a cold voice, yet, soothing. The first figure stepped forward.

“I am Galadriel, lady of the wood. And this is my husband, Celeborn.” Galadriel introduced the two and Kirstyn could only stare.

“I’m dreaming! I must be dreaming! Oh my God! I have to be dreaming! Somebody pinch me please!” Kirstyn said loudly. Suddenly somebody pinched her. “Owwww! I didn’t mean it you—you—oh my…” A dark haired elf was standing behind her, Kirstyn recognized her as Arwen.

“Luna! I thought you left for Rivendell already!” Arwen said, a smile touching the ageless face.

“Luna…” Kirstyn repeated, feeling more than a little dazed.

Brittany ran right into a gated place, and right into a tall guard. He looked down at her curiously. “What’s wrong Little one?” He asked. Brittany could only point at a huge spider. The guard automatically fitted an arrow to his bow, but Brittany didn’t stick around, she ran.
